Over the years, we have tried many colour formulations and we are excited to share with you one of our favourite base colours to compliment blonde balayages. Every time we have used this colour mix, it gave stunning results.
Try this formula the next time you need to do a root melt or base for your blonde balayage/ombre client. This colour does not leave the hair too ashy or warm. The reflects are absolutely beautiful.
What did we mix?
To get the gorgeous root colour above, we mixed L’Oreal 7.12 from the permanent Majirel line with 20 volume.

If you prefer to use something other than L’Oreal, Kaaral Bacò’s colour line (a professional Italian company) also has a pretty 7.12 in their permanent colour line. However, their 7.12 is a little lighter than L’Oreal’s. So, to get the equivalent colour from Bacò you will need to mix ¾ 7.12 + ¼ 6.0 (their natural level 6) with 20 volume.

Need a base slightly darker?
L’Oreal Majirel also has a shade in 6.12, which is gorgeous for when you need a darker blonde base for you client.
6.12 is available on Dia Richesse, which is great when you do not want to use a permanent colour on your client.
